Jutebox - Fallout
Originally formed in Dundee in late 2022 and now operating out of Glasgow, funk fusion quintet Jutebox features Dan Richardson on lead vocals and keys, Alex Thornton on guitar, Kai Murdoch on bass, Alasdair Napier on drums and Ross Henderson on sax.
With a band drawing from different influences this has allowed them to blend a unique mix of sounds and genres such as funk, ska, blues and rock to make groovy feel good music.
They have taken the Scottish scene by storm with their high energy, fun and inclusive live shows playing fantastic shows in venues such as King Tuts, Rum Shack, Mash House, Church, Tunnels and Ice Factory.
After the success of their debut EP Soul Maintenance in late 2024 which saw the band get radio and media recognition nationally and across Europe they have returned to the studio and the fruits of that is Fallout.
Fallout is a fantastic piano driven track of fantastic funk pop/soul. The keys are complemented by some catchy guitar hooks and a driving drum and bass combo, with a huge saxophone sound to bring it all together.
It’s a track that will have you tapping along from the opening notes and it won’t be long until you are joining in with the infectious lyrics.
It’s been a long wait since their last release but this doesn’t disappoint it’s a track that will have you smiling and bouncing through the rest of your day, but enough of me raving about it give it a listen below:
Juteboxare a band that like to play with musical genres and this translates to their high energy, slightly chaotic but most importantly fun and all inclusive live shows.
With groovy bass lines, tricky rhythms, catch melodies and relatable lyrics there is something in one of their live sets for music fans of all backgrounds, if you’re reading this today (25/4) then they are playing tonight at 1990 in Glasgow, why don’t you see if there are any tickets left.
